Today, At School... (T.A.S.)

Hi gorg!!

So today is October 11, 2013, Friday and my class is fashion design. I was an hour late but it was not a big deal for teacher Odg (besides, it's my loss that I wasted an hour to do my plates). I sat beside one of my friends, Erica, who is too busy with her mixed media plate and I wanna share with you all the awesomeness of the image she is copying.

AWEEEEEEESOME!

Awesome right!? (I said awesome at least 3 times now because of this image!) I got easily distracted on doing my plates because I was really amazed by how good she draws the image and I cannot help but watch her (hehehehe, I am really that bum in minding my own work, yeah). She has started putting the colors on and I cannot wait to see her finish it! (I admire her talent; I admire everyone who excels in sketching and drawing and/or anyone who's good in creativity and arts, because I have ZERO talent in drawing guys! That's why I enrolled for the fashion design class; I have my hopes high that I will somehow learn something)

And then the bell rang.. (RINNNNNNNNNG!) Its 12noon and it'sssssss Lunch time!!!!! Went to Jollibee to grab a to-go meal and I chose the new Spaghetti value meal with jolly hotdog and coke, it cost me P85, pretty cheap huh.
buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurp!

1:00pm and I'm back at my table to continue doing my plates. Do you know that feeling after eating so much and you're too full and sleepy???? Yes?! I do! That's what I felt as soon as I sat and stared at my paper. I removed my glasses, scratched my eyes a few times, looked to my left, then to my right and then downwards then scratched my eyes again. Stared at nowhere for a few moments, grabbed my phone and took a few camera shots....
Erica is ignoring the world by listening to good music and focusing on her plate while I find my own way to fight the boredom and sleepiness...

this is my 'what the fuck am I doing?" face (Erica still focused on her mixed media plate)

Finally, I went back to doing my fashion sketching plates ( it is very hard for me, uggggh! I told you, I have zero drawing skills and my patience to focusing on details is very little) I had to show teacher Odg every drawing I make before marking permanent pens on it because I DO NOT WANT TO RE-DO ANYTHING if ever I make even a small mistake. I drank a lot of water at this time so I had to visit the washroom, I had to pee! When I got back to the classroom, Ms. Terry was making some announcement. What was she talking about? Ahhhhhh! Classes are suspended at 3pm! (It was around 2pm when she made the announcement) Hooray!

Before we go, Izzy wants a photo, because she wasn't in the two photos above (I told you to sit beside me but you ignored me! haha)
it was kinda blur because my hand is a little shaky, because I am hungry AGAIN. Oh! and hello to our photo bomber classmate! Mehehehe.

And because I love my outfit today, and lots of my classmates also liked it, I just had to take a photo and do my Outfit of the day.
I call this Splash of Stripes B&W edition

Oh! One more thing, just because I stressed out that I was really bored and sleepy today doesn't mean I am that irresponsible to not finish my plates! As a proof, I present you this...
Voila! I finished 3 plates today!!!

Teehee! xoxo Kim

PS: If you think that this is a non sense blog, I am not sorry! Just needed to let my thoughts out today. Yihaaaaa!

SLIM'S Fashion & Arts School 52nd Foundation Day

This October 2013, we are celebrating our school's founding year. It has been a glamorous fifty-two years of making the best of the best aspiring fashion designers and dressmakers for the fashion industry, either locally or internationally. Every year, Slim's features the best work of students for the year and I would love to share with you all some of the prides of Slim's Fashion & Arts School for 2013.

photos grabbed from  Slim's Fashion & Arts School (Official Page)

We also had the chance to meet other students and had the chance to mingle with them. Right then and there I realized, Slim's is not just a school who tries to create great fashion designers and dressmakers, it is also a place where you can freely express yourself, be who you are and still be accepted by your teachers, mentors, classmates and schoolmates. I am currently at the preparatory class for fashion design and dressmaking and I am hopeful that next year I will also be able to showcase my work. Of course that is, if I will be one of the best student of 2014. I am praying and working hard for it.

with some of my classmates, schoolmates and at the farthest right, our teacher mentor for fashion design preparatory class, Sir Odg.

with Izzy and Erica, my super friends at school; we look so decent here but if you could just scroll down a little bit more.....

THIS IS HOW WE REALLY ROLL! Teehee!

Kim of All Trades

"Jack of all trades, master of none" is a figure of speech used in reference to a person that is competent with many skills but is not necessarily outstanding in any particular one. (wikipedia)
Of course I do not intend to live up with that figure of speech but because of some reasons I needed to be the "Kim of all Trades" and here's the story...

I plan on revamping my online shop because I already know how to sew pieces of clothes and I plan on selling them. I was so lucky that my mother's friend, a photographer, offered to do the shoot of my clothing line. I had a couple of weeks to prepare for the photoshoot. I was really excited because for the first time I will be able to execute my skills "professionally" (yes, quoted and unquoted because I am no pro at all, mehehehe). As I've said from my previous blog, I am fond of watching Youtube tutorials and I have pocketed a few ideas on make up techniques and hairstyles.

hair, makeup, and style I did and chose for the first look

Since I do not have the budget to hire any stylist, make-up and hair stylist, I have to do it on my own. I also have to do the styling of the clothes because I made the clothes and no one would understand the look I am going for but me. It wasn't hard for me to do it all because it gives me joy whenever I make women pretty and glam! Seeing the whole look of my model almost made me want to cry, but of course I hold back the tears because most probably other people in the studio would have laughed at me.

behind the scene: forgive my haggard face as this was already around 7pm, it has been 9 hours since we started the shoot

behind the scene: as I was doing some minor retouch to my model

behind the scene: hey there Mr. Photographer! :)

behind the scene: goofing around with our model, hihi

Making clothes is my first love but I have decided to do these make-up and hair styling  on the side, besides I have a lot of time to spare (because I am jobless) Teehee!

some of our final photos from the shoot

I hope you like it! Teehee!

The Dream Catcher --That's me!

A few months ago, I graduated in college and finished marketing management. Months before our graduation, I have nothing to do at home but to watch Youtube videos, I watch make-up, hairstyle and DIY tutorials. When I became addicted to watching DIY videos and tried to practice what I learned, I started doing it for myself, my cousins and posted it on my Facebook and Instagram.

here are some DIY shorts I did and posted on my social media accounts

I received a lot of great feedback and my mom told me that I should try to sell them online. Then I saw a bazaar advertisement online and I decided to join since the venue is very near our place. I was very nervous because a few months back, I joined my first bazaar and it wasn't really of that success. But when I joined the bazaar at Greenbelt, my DIY shorts ALMOST sold out. Few pieces were left and I was really happy because most buyers gave very heart warming compliments regarding my work and it hit me!

these are photos from the bazaar I joined last May 21013 - Blooming Summer Sale Bazaar at Greenbelt 3 Park

I know what I really wanted to pursue, the business of fashion. I know that this is a very competitive industry but I am willing to push all my luck and give my very best just to survive! this is what makes me happy and I am going to do whatever it takes.

Now, I am enrolled in a local fashion school here in Manila and I know that this is the first step to catching my dream.
