1. It isn't advisable to be used (Why was it manufactured in the first place?)
2. It will harm/damage your skin (Only if you used it wrongly.)
3. It will only worsen the acne on your face (Clearly, you have no idea how it works.)
The list goes on, but these were the usual reaction I got from people whenever I said that I used Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3.
First, let us read the information written in the packaging.
Maxi-Peel #3 (Tretinoin & Hydroquinone Formula) Exfoliant Anti-Acne Skin Lightener #3 - Advanced 60ml
It is dermatologist-tested safe for use especially among women from
18-35 years old. Maxi-Peel is approved by the DOH-BFAD so consumers are
assured that the product adheres to its labeling.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Place a small amount of the solution on a
swab of cotton and spread evenly on your face with an upward motion.
Use once or twice daily for 2 months. Resume treatment after a month of
rest.
FORMULATION: Each 100 mL contains tretinoin - 25mg and hydroquinone - 2.0g
PRECAUTION: Test the for sensitivity to the product prior to use.
Clean a small patch of skin in the inner arm. Place a small amount of
MAXI-PEEL solution on a piece of cotton then apply lightly. Do this 3
times (morning, afternoon, evening) for one day in the same area of
application. In case severe redness and itchiness occur, refrain from
using the product (this is a sign of allergy). If no allergies occur,
you may start using the product. Do not apply on sunburned or abraded
skin or on more that 10% of total body surface. Avoid direct exposure to
sunlight. Apply Extraderm Sunblock Cream for protection. Avoid the use
of other brands while using the product as these may not complement with
MAXI-PEEL.
ADVERSE EFFECT: MAXI-PEEL causes slight stinging, burning,
reddening, and peeling at the site of application. If irritation becomes
severe and persists, discontinue treatment and consult your
dermatologist. STORAGE: Store at room temperature not exceeding 30
degrees C.
WARNING: - Prolonged use of hydroquinone (beyond 2 months) may
cause ochronosis (hyperpigmentation) in areas exposed to sunlight. -
This product is not recommended for use by pregnant women. - It should
not be used on children under 12 years of age.

Why I Used Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3
I first tried this product on year 2011. This method was taught to me by a friend, and I did what she told me because I visibly saw the good effect of the product on her face.
When I was in college, there was that time of my life that I had too many acne, in tagalog term "para akong tigyawat na tinubuan ng mukha.", I am dead serious when I tell you that it was a worst case of acne problem.
The acne's were big, reddish and itchy - it really was a bad acne problem to the point that I even ditched classes whenever my acne's made me feel bad. At that time, I felt hideous and dirty. I have tried a lot of products that would make them disappear - Neutrogena, Ponds, Eskinol, Olay, name it I may have tried it - unfortunately none of it worked.I even agreed to my grandmother's suggestion to consult a hilot, because maybe I was being cursed(kulam) - it's hilarious right? But could you blame me if I got frustrated because it has been months since my acne problems started and everything I had used just didn't work.

And this is the result after 2 months of Using the Product.
How Do I Use Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3?
I used the product twice a day, in the morning and in the evening.
At night, wash your face with your desired soap, I use an RDL Tawas Whitening Soap. I put 4-5 drops of Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3 on a cotton ball and wipe it all over my face and neck ONCE (don't wipe the cotton ball on your face over and over again as if you were erasing a pencil drawing." Wait for 5-10 seconds before applying A LOT of Mena Facial Whitening cream (which cost around Php20), by A LOT I mean to say that the more Geisha-ish you looked, the better.
In the morning, wash your face with your desired soap and towel dry it. Put 1-2 drops of Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3 on a cotton ball and wipe it on your face once (note that I use less drops of Maxi Peel in the morning because our face is more expose to sunlight and using less drops would lessen the possibility that it would burn our face). 5-10 seconds after applying the exfoliant, put a good amount of sunblock on your face (I use Maxi Peel Sunblock Cream SPF20), then apply a thin layer of Mena Facial Whitening cream. (Note: You can apply powder if you desired, but there are two options for this - 1. Use baby powder only, because using cosmetic powder or foundation may not have a good reaction with Maxi Peel, 2. Try not to apply anything else on you face for at least the first 2-3weeks.)
Patiently do this routine for 2 months, and you will have a better, smoother and lighter skin.
What I experienced while using Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3:

2. Avoid eating slimy/fishy foods when your face is on the itchy stage (fishes, eggs, chicken etc)
3. Always drink water (12-15 glasses a day would be better)
4. Always use sunscreen.
5. After 2 months of using the product, STOP! Let your face rest for 1 month. After a month, repeat the routine but this time use Maxi Peel Exfoliant 2.
Note: After a year, I stopped using the product because I was confident that I won't have the same acne problem anymore. I stopped applying anything on my face that's why my face became darker that my body. (That was 1 thing I regretted when I stopped using the product). After I realize that my face was dark, I tried another product that a friend referred to me again, the Beauche set.
It has been a year since I stopped using anything on my face since I was able to maintain a clean, smooth, and fair face after using Beauche. But now that I started to live in another country (Dubai), my face started to have a lot of acne again, (see picture below for reference). Since I am busy working here, I really don't have the time and patience to use the Beauche set again (because a lot has to be applied on the face and most of the time, once I get home - I just want to rest already).
That's why I decided to use Maxi Peel Exfoliant 3 again, and I am on my 3rd week now. I will update this blog once I finished the 2months routine. :)

Hello im very inspired sa blog mo... Im using maxipeel 3 ngayon for 10 days na and nagstop na xa magpeel and napansin ko na parang nagkaroon ako discoloration sa gilid ng pisngi ko but hnd ko naman napansin na nasunog to tapos ung baba ko lagi mahapdi kpg nagaapply ako . naexprience m din ba tong kind of discoloration at the 1st week of use? Feeling ko tuloy i have to stop... Im using it twice a day and with moisturizer and spf 50 in am... Tnx so much!

Burahin1.Maybe there was too much exfoliant solution on the cotton ball.
2. It was rubbed all over your face more than once which is not advisable kasi as for my experience, noong ganon ang ginagawa ko (because I thought doing so will give me faster result)
3. (Not a reason, but a note) You should apply it more gently, and once lang dapat kasi too much exfoliant solution will really burn the skin.
Personally, hindi ko na-experience ung burned skin kasi I took my friend's advice na tsagain at mag-apply lang ng konti every day and night. Regarding dun sa mahapdi pag nag-aapply, what I did is hindi ko siya tinigil, rather after applying the exfoliant tumatapat ako sa fan para ma-ease yung hapdi then kinakapaln ko ung lagay ng Mena at night para hindi magdry ung skin ko.

Hi ate, boy po ako 16 years old. Meron akong random severe acne, scars at dark spots and im currently using kojic royale papaya soap, its been 18 days since ginamit ko yung soap. Wala naman akong nakikitang improvements pwede ko na kayang itry yung maxi peel 3 kahit wala akong moisturizer o yung mena ba yon. Ititigil ko nalang yung kojic tas normal water face wash nalang gagawin ko na sesense ko na yung tapang nung maxi peel e. Please reply :)

Ang tanong ko po, pwede rin ba to sa acne scars (ung lubog na peklat na inwan ng acne) at sa acne marks (red or black discoloration na iniwan din ng acne) ano po ba ung mairerecommend nyo saking variant ng Maxipeel?
TumugonBurahinHello, actually nung tinapos kong gamitin ung maxipeel for 2 months, pati acne marks (red/black discoloration) natanggal na rin eh, though yung peklat kung malalim na talaga I don't think matatanggal ng maxipeel yun.Advice ko sayo, you can use maxipeel 1 since acne marks na lang naman yung gusto mo mawala, mas less ang peeling pero mas mahabang process bago magkaron ng result. Though, kung kakatapos mo lang gumamit ng Retin-A, pahingahin mo muna ung face mo for a month or two kasi baka mairitate or maburn kapag tuloy-tuloy ang gamit ng exfoliant. Also, remember for exfoliant, big NO NO na masikatan ng direct heat from the sun. :)
Burahinhello po im using Maxipeel # 2 po since d nmn po ganun karami ang pimples ko at ang marami sa akin is pimple marks,im on 8 days na po since i started using the exfoliant solution with moisturiser of cetaphil and maxi peel concealing cream (fair),and ang gamit kong sabon ay kojie san,at night ko po ginagamit yan sa daytime ay eskinol kalamansi na gamit ko with moisturiser parin at concealing cream, d ko po gano sinasabon mukha ko kasi matapang yung kojie san,1nce a day lng oh d kaya hindi pa plain water nlng pang hugas ko, ngayon ramdam ko yung itchyness at may mga breakouts ako at may mga lumalabas na white heads,worry less nmn po ako sa sunburn since office lng nmn po ako the whole day.,should i continue with this regimen or may dapat po ba akong baguhin?pa advice naman po thank you.
TumugonBurahinHi Kathleen, I think you should stop using kojie san kasi matapang na ingredients talaga siya, since ung chemicals ng maxipeel is high na rin, I think you should stick with one regimen lang. It's either maxipeel + moisturiser + cream, or eskinol calamansi + moisturiser + cream, or kojie san alone. I'm not sure kung anong chemical reaction ng paggamit ng iba ibang acne solutions in a day, pero for safer side pili ka lang ng isang set ng beauty regimen for day and night. Tyagaan din kasi para ma-acchieve yung flawless look, it doesn't come overnight, also as experienced kapag minamadali ung paglabas ng result - its either na-bburn yung skin, or nagda-dry masyado.
BurahinAbout sa breakouts, since its your 1st week pa lang, as stated sa blog post ko, may possibility ng breakouts sa 1st-2nd week of using maxipeel kasi nilalabas niya lahat ng dumi ng pores.

Hello po, may scars at kunting acne pimples po ako and im currently using rolaye product soap.its been 25 days since ginamit ko yung royale soap...But walang improvements..As of now I've been using maxi peel #3 with concealing cream na mayroong sunbkock SPF20..tapos everyday i use cetaphil soap is it okay na ito ang saop ko daily?

BurahinHi! I've been using #3 for almost a month now and I'm not experiencing the drastic peeling that every review i've ever read has been talking about. I only experience mild peeling once i apply cosmetic powder on my face. And i'm still breaking out! My daily routine is that at night, I was my face with cetaphil then apply 3 drops of maxi peel before I go to bed. In the morning, I wash my face again with cetaphil then put on some neutrogena sunblock later on. (I dont apply any mosturizer since i dont experience any peeling in the morning). So far, i see no significant lightening on any of my marks. I'm really reallyyy desperate to be acne and acne mark free again so i really hope you can help me out :( btw, most of my marks have bumps when you feel it. i think these are called cystic acne? not sure if these are the reason why maxi peel isnt working out for me so well. Hoping you could reply as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

BurahinI would suggest na for the 2-month routine na gagamitin mo ung maxipeel, try to avoid applying make-up muna kasi mas nakaka-engganyo siya ng dirt. Also, siguro ung panghilamos and sunblock mo hindi nagrerecact positively with maxipeel. Also, don't forget to put moisturizer at day and night para hindi magdry ung balat. If you want you could try the exact same routine I did, kase I can only speak for the method I used. Hope this helps :)

Hi ate, I'm currently using the Maxi-peel Exfoliant Solution #2 but I stopped it already after using it for 2 nights. Medyo patapos na yung peeling stage ng face ko but I'm still worried cause I'm experiencing dryness and itchyness right now. And I've also got some spots (not sure if it is a red spots or dark spots). Tapos everytime I smile ramdam ko po yung pagstretch ng skin ko, like masyado siyang tight. I also stopped po kasi everytime I wash my face with Neutrogena Facial Wash mahapdi siya sa face and even when I'm using the maxi-peel itself eh mahapdi din po. Is it normal po ba na to experience those kind of things? Like the dryness, pagiging itchy, and yung spots? I'm worried po kasi baka masunog face ko or worst is magkaroon ako ng "pekas" at young age. What should I do po ba? Thanks in advance. I hope I can have that flawless skin na. :)

Burahin1. Dryness- nagddry sya maybe because hindi enough ung moisturizer na nilalagay mo every day and night & baka masyadong maraming exfoliant solution ung inaapply mo.
2. Itchyness- ung kati, it is normal kung natutuyo ung pimples, pero kung parang nagiging pantal na sya na makati - it might be allergy - better to stop using it kase baka hindi mo hiyang.
3. Spots - anong klaseng spots? normally kase kapag natutuyo na ung pimples, nagddark sya then it starts to peel off. I remembered the feeling nung nagpeel ung balat ko and when I removed it kasama ung black spots.
4. Tightness of pores- you shouldnt be worried about it, in fact it is a good sign dahil sinasara niya ugn pores mo. Close pores means no bacteria na sisingit sa pores - hindi tutubuan ng pimples.
5. Burning sensation - again, maybe too much solution and pangalawa kung mahapdi na sya, try to wash your face with water alone. Normal syang humapdi, pero to prevent na maburn ung skin - dapat once mo lang ira-rub ung face - wag paulit ulit.

Hi Ate. I have questions po. Im 17 yrs old. Pwede ko na po bang gamitin ung Maxipeel #3? Meron pa kasi akong acne sa right cheek. As in Righ t cheek lang po talaga sya. Then isang tumpok sya. Namumula tas sobrang halata pa kasi maputi ako. I think nakukuha ko sya sa pag pupuyat tsaka pag kain ng junk foods at paginom ng soda. Kaya ko namang iwasan lahat except dun sa pagpupuyat. College student na po kasi ako tas sobra pong daming ginagawa. Uhm ano po bang pwede nyon i-suggest sakin? Should I try Maxi peel #3? Then ano pong moisturizing cream gagamitin? BurahinDon't use #3 kasi hindi naman buong mukha ung meron so madaling gamutin. try #2. Soap depends kung anong level of chemicals kayang itake ng skin mo - if you think sensitive ung skin mo - try to use baby soap lang or water lang talaga at night tutal sa gabi naman less exposed tayo sa bacteria. annnnnd As I've always advice, don't forget to use moisturizer para hindi magdry ang skin. :)

I am on my 2nd week using MP #3 now and nag uumpisa na naman akong magsisi kase second time ko ng gamitin to, Yung una mga 6 months ago, I used to have clear skin tas may 3 pimple lang na lumabas sa left and right cheeks ko. Wala akong budget nun para bumili ng mahal na gamot kaya i used maxi-peel. ginamit ko sya for a month and napuno yung cheeks saka noo ko ng dikit dikit na pimples , umabot na dun sa nsabihan na ko na kadiri, mas lalong nakakastress nun kaya di na natitigil yung sa noo ko. Umabot na dun sa depression na ayoko ng tignan yung old photos ko :( and ayoko na ding lumabas. Kya all this time feeling ko yung maxi-peel yung sumira sa muka ko. Then mga march this year, nagging active na naman yung pimples sa cheeks ko which is di na ganong kaactive for 3 months. kya gumamit ulit ako ng Maxi-peel #2 thinking na baka may mali akong ginawa dati and this time kung siya yung sumira sa mukha ko sya naman yung aayos. I'm now on my second week tapos dumadami na naman sya na active lahat, after magdry ng isa may lalabas na bumps na malaki. I would just like to ask if itutuloy ko ba? and mali ba na sa mismong affeted area ko lang siya gamitin? ayoko kase madamage yung natitira kong clear skin. thank you pls respond
TumugonBurahinHello, actually I see maxipeel as my last resort kapag sobrang lala na ng pimples ko - ung hindi ko na sya ma-control ung pagdami niya. Sa case mo kasi, parang konti pa lang naman ung pimples so tingin ko dapat hindi ka muna gumamit non. Like for example, ako ngayon, since mainit na ulit dito sa UAE nag-sstart na naman may tumubong mangilan-ngilan and what I do is I use toner and moisturizer lang para ma-eliminate kung ano mang mga bacteria ung nakukuha ko sa public places.
BurahinKung konti lang naman ung pimples mo, stop it. There's a lot of other facial/skin care products na hindi naman expensive pero enough para maalagaan ang skin and prevent unwanted pimples/white/blackhead. Ayoko rin kasing ma-damage ung skin mo kung hindi naman pala ganoon kadami and kalala.
Also, dapat pag ginamit mo sya, i-aapply mo sya sa buong mukha and leeg kasi kapag natapos mo ung 2-month routing magiging un-even ung skin tone mo since after using the product, mas pumuputi ung areas na inaapplyan nung exfoliant solution.

Hello po! 3rd attempt ko na to, di pumasok yung unang dalawa. So gumagamit po ako ng Maxi peel 3. Pero it's a little bit different because sa Underarm ko siya inaapply, at first maganda ang result. Nawawala ang chicken skin tsaka yung line na maitim. Pero one day eh severe peeling siya tas pagka peel eh reddish skin which is normal po di ba? Pero nung nah subside na yung reddening eh nangitim na siya, which i presume e burnt na yung skin. Tigin niyo po if i follow your instruction eh pwede pa ma save or should i stop na? Thanks po a lot!
TumugonBurahinHi Belle, honestly I have no idea how it will work with the armpit. Ang naiisip ko lang kasi is, since most of the time naiipit siya, ung pores ng armpit hindi nakakahinga - nakukulob siya. In my personal opinion, I don't think it is good to use Maxipeel sa armpit.

Yes, I experience itchiness na po, a slight stinging sensation pero minsan minsan lang po (weird...) and hindi ko din po napapansin yung redness maybe because I apply moisturizer. I'm not yet at the peeling stage pero sa tingin nio po kelan?

Hi Son, I experienced redness and stinging - based on experience normal effect siya ng exfoliant but it did gradually subside on my part. Whenever I sweat or nainitan ng slight humahapdi siya that's why I really avoid contact with heat/sunlight - kase that could be a main cause ng stinging and redness. Also, I haven't tried following the direction provided in the label (because I'm a bad*ss like that, hehe joke) - de kasi as I said on my blog, I followed the regimen of a friend whom I saw na talagang kuminis ung face - luckily the same result happened for me.
BurahinAlso, reminder lang - if the scar is not yet healed, don't apply exfoliant at all kasi it might damage your skin since strong solution ang maxipeel.
Yung peeling, depende kasi sa exfoliant no. and how many times you used it on a day - on my case, following the regimen I stated - after a week nag-start na siya magpeel.

Hi Mark, yes mas mabilis effect kapag twice a day ang gamit pero make sure na mas cautious ka especially pag sa morning na naglalagay ka ng solution since mas pwedeng expose sa init/araw. Also, kapag umaga, wag kakalimutang magmoisturizer parin after applying sunblock :)

Here is a regimen that you can follow:
Morning Regimen:
1. Wash your face with the Maxi-Peel Facial Wash
2. Apply the Maxi-Peel Sun Block cream to help protect your face from sun exposure (best if re-re-apply mo every 4 hours if prolonged at paulit ulit ang exposure mo sa araw)
Evening Regimen:
1. Wash your face with the Maxi-Peel Facial Wash
2. Use the Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution #2 (because of my siin condition) on your face. You just need to place 1-2 drops sa bulak and gentle lang ang pag-dab sa face mo, once in an upward motion
3. Use the Maxi-Peel Moisturizing Cream after
Remember, after a month of using the solution, pause using it muna because your skin needs to rest. After a month, you can use it again. For the rest period, replace the Maxi-Peel Exfoliant Solution sa step 2 ng regimen mo with the Maxi-Peel Facial Cleanser. Also, remember that it is important for you to use Sun Block to protect your face.
Also, if this will be your first time to use Maxi-Peel here are some things lang that you should take note of.
1. Perform first a skin patch test (using cotton apply Maxi-Peel Exfoliation Solution sa inner arm mo in the morning, noon, and evening. If wala kang napansin na irritation withing 24-48 hours you can go ahead and use the product.
2. Best is to stick to using Maxi-Peel products only from the regimen we recommended. Some other skin products kasi may not complement the Exfoliation Solution.
3. Best to avoid direct sun exposure, and ensure na you apply the Maxi-Peel Sunblock Cream sa face at neck mo for protection.
4. Don't apply the solution sa broken o wounded skin. Apply it lang sa face at neck.
5. Skin redness is normal, especially sa first few days na pag gamit ng Maxi-Peel. If nakaka-experience ka nang pangangati, remember to apply the Maxi-Peel Moisturizing Cream after the solution at night or pwede mo munang gamitin yung solution every other day hanggang sa mawala yung itchiness
6.If may napapansin ka na rashes, papules, o swelling sa first few days of using the solution, stop using it and message us agad. Wash your face with mild soap and water.

Reyphil (sorry ate Kim ti-nook over ko ang blog mo haha), nag patch test ka ba before you used the product? Yung nakaindocate na instruction kasi sa kahon ng product is to test the reaction of the product on you first by applying a liberal amount of the solution sa tupi ng arm mo within 24 hours. Kapag walang irritation (rashes,sobrang pamumula etc.) hiyang sa yo yung product. If kabaligtaran nung sinabi ko inig sabihin you are allergic sa chemical na present sa maxi-peel. In your case, madami pa ba yung pantal? Every other day ba nadagdagan siya? :)
Burahinreyphil, I think it's allergy. tingin ko hindi mo hiyang nag maxipeel so I recomment na stop ma na pag gamit bago pa ma-damage yung skin mo. Try other products, remember, not everything that works for other people will also work for you. :)

Hi! I'm using Maxi Peel # 2 for 3 weeks now and I can't seem to feel any effects with the product. I have some mild pimples on my face and I'm not sure if it is a cystic acne but I have like 2 pimples on my face that have bumps in it. Anyways, in 3 weeks of using the product, I can't feel any stinging sensation or can't see any redness or peeling on my face caused by using Maxi Peel.

Tama po ba ginawa ko? Ano po recommended na soap and cream? Btw maxipeel 2 po gamit ko 1st time gumamit pero almost 3 weeks na rin akong gumagamit, nakaranas ng pag itchy sa mukha and medyo redness tapos mahapdi,and lalaki po ako gumamit lang ako kasi medyo madami ako pimples pero good nman result nya sa 3 weeks na paggamit ko. TumugonBurahinHello ate, I've been using maxipeel #2 since mild lang naman po yung acne ko, I am using dove for sensitive skin as a soap and maxipeel moisturizer and sunblock po gamit ko. Napapansin ko po after using it for 2 week nawawala po acne and acne marks ko but dumadami po small bumps ko na parang may lamang black head? Is it normal po ba? but the way po hindi pa siya namamalat or nangangati po.
